About pool screen repair
Not every screen problem needs a full rescreen. A palm frond, a curious dog or a summer storm can tear one or two panels, and screen doors take more abuse than any other part of an enclosure. Panel-by-panel repair is usually quick and affordable, and it keeps bugs out until you are ready for a bigger project.
Common screen repairs
- Replacing individual torn or punctured panels.
- Re-splining panels where the rubber spline has shrunk or popped out.
- Screen door repair or replacement: closers, hinges, handles, latches and kick plates.
- Pet doors and heavy-duty lower panels.
- Small frame fixes such as loose screws and missing cross braces.
Before you call
- Count the damaged panels and note whether they are on the roof or walls.
- Take a few photos. Installers can often give a faster quote from photos.
- Check the frame for loose or missing screws and bent members.
- Think about upgrading lower panels to a tougher screen if pets or kids caused the damage.

Common questions
Is it worth repairing a few panels on an old cage?
If the rest of the screen is in good shape, yes. If most panels are faded and brittle, new panels will stand out and others will keep failing, so a full rescreen may be better value.
Can new screen match my old screen color?
New charcoal screen is darker than faded screen, so repaired panels may look slightly different at first. Many homeowners accept the difference or repair a whole wall for a uniform look.
Do installers take small jobs?
Many do, though some have minimums. Telling us it is a small repair helps us match you with installers who handle smaller work.
