Pool Enclosure FAQ
Answers to common questions about pool cages, screens and our free quote service.
What is Screened Pool Enclosures Florida?
We are a free quote-matching service for homeowners between Tampa and Fort Myers. You tell us about your pool enclosure, lanai or screen project and we connect you with an independent, licensed local installer, plus a second one if you ask.
Is it really free?
Yes. Homeowners never pay us. Installers may pay us for introductions, which does not change your price.
Are you a contractor?
No. We do not perform work. Installers quote, contract and perform the work, and you deal with them directly.
How many companies will contact me?
One installer who serves your area and handles your type of project. If you would like a second quote, tell us and we will send one more.
How do I check an installer’s license?
Ask for their license number and look it up on the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) website. Also ask for proof of insurance.
Do pool enclosures need permits?
New enclosures and structural work generally need permits and must meet Florida wind-load requirements. Rescreening alone often does not. Rules vary by city and county.
How long do screens last?
It depends on sun, salt air, storms, pets and the screen type. Many Southwest Florida homeowners rescreen every several years to about a decade.
What screen should I choose?
Standard pool and patio screen suits most homes. No-see-um mesh helps near water and preserves, heavy-duty mesh suits lower panels where pets play, and privacy or solar screens add shade.
Can you help after a hurricane?
Yes. Send a request for storm damage. Response times can be longer after major storms because demand is very high.
Which areas do you cover?
Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte and Lee counties. See our service areas.
How is my information used?
We use it to match you with installers and share it only with the installers we match you with. See our privacy policy.
