About hurricane screens
Hurricane screens are heavy-duty fabric panels that cover openings such as lanai walls, windows, sliding doors and garage doors during a storm. Many systems roll up out of sight when not in use. They are often lighter and easier to deploy than panels or shutters, and many also provide shade and privacy day to day.
Types of storm screen systems
- Roll-down screens in a housing above the opening, manual or motorized.
- Removable fabric panels that attach to tracks or anchors.
- Systems designed for large lanai and patio openings.

Common questions
Are hurricane screens the same as pool cage screens?
No. Pool cage screens keep out insects and are not designed to stop flying debris. Hurricane screens are a different, heavy-duty product for storm protection.
Do hurricane screens need to be approved?
Storm protection products in Florida generally need product approval and must be installed for the right wind zone. Your installer should provide documentation.
